Hi everyone!
I am an 18-year-old female and for the
past couple days, everytime I go from a
sitting to a standing position and begin
walking a few steps, I am hit with a sharp
throbbing pain in a vein in my head. It
forces me to stop walking and it goes away
after a few seconds. It goes from the top
of my head all the way to the side of my
forehead, it feels very obvious that it is
one vein causing the issue. It also
happens when I go up and down the stairs,
but not as bad. It also throbs along with
my heart beat, which is very frightening.
Could this be a blood pressure thing? Do I
need to see a doctor?!
Thanks in advance!

throbbing vein in head Posted: 10-02-08 15:47pm
HI: I was wondering if you still have
this condtion? Also, did it just go away,
or did you see a physician about your
problem? I have a similar problem with
the throbbing in my head when I stand and
start to walk. Doctors keep telling me
its a migraine. I have had migraines,
but not when I stand to walk. Like to
find a solution as it is quite
unconfortable and irritating. Thanks.

I think I have the same thing. I have had
it for years. It is a constant pain
(normally on my left side although I have
had it on the right). It is a vein that
throbs. I am on Birth Control pills. Some
time after I started taking the pills I
got these headaches. Some doctors tell me
headaches or migraines can be caused by
b/c pills but others say they don't. All I
know is that I didn't have the headaches
before I started taking the pill. One day
Ill stop taking the pill and will be able
to tell if it is the cause. But not any
time soon.
Do you take the pill?
