Hi, i'm a 30 year old male who recently
had bloodwork done. Just to let you know,
my older brother recently had his thyroid
removed as it was cancerous. My results
are a bit out of range:
t-3 uptake: 36 (range is 22-35)
Calcium: 10.4 (range is 8.6-10.2)
Albumin: 5.4 (range 3.6-5.1)
Albumin/Globumin ration: 2.2 (range is
1.0-2.1)
My TSH is 1.70 (range is .40-4.50) which
is normal but I thought it may be of
help.
I understand these numbers aren't off by
much although they are different than lab
work I had done a year ago for a normal
physical.
Sometimes I feel great, other times I feel
exhausted and can't concentrate, almost
like I have depression. I have never been
on antidepressants, nor do I have any
mental health issues just so you know.
Also, sometimes after I eat I swear it
feels like I have a weight on my chest,
almost like slight signs of having a heart
attack. It's weird considering I am not
overweight (I am 5 foot 9 and 145 pounds),
don't smoke, and am only 30 years old. I
am rather thin if that matters any? Just
trying to get to the bottom of this.

Your TSH level is normal due the old and
due to new TSH reference ranges ( TSH 0.4
and 2.5 mIU/L, suggested 3 years ago, but,
still, not adopted from all laboratories
and physicians). Also,different labs have
different TSH ranges.
Can you think of other possible symptoms
you may have?
Do you get the weight feeling on your
chest, only, after eating?
