Took Plan B - chances of being pregnant
Posted: 03-06-08 14:45pm

I got my period on February 14th and it lasted until February 19th. I had unprotected sex on February 20th and he pulled out. I took Plan B the next day and took both pills at once. I definately wasnt ovulating since it was 2 days after my period. I started taking BC on February 22nd and on the 23rd I starting bleeding for about 7-10 days. I am wondering what my chances are of being pregnant... Thanks so much!!

You had sex close to your period, so chances are lower that you ovulated if you have a normal 28 day cycle. However, there is still always a chance because ovulation can be irregular.

Since you had your period and bled for 7-10 days, chances are very very low of you being pregnant. Most pregnant woman do not bleed at all, or if they do it is usually light pink spotting.

It is wonderful that you went to get plan B after having unprotected sex, because that greatly aids in preventing unwanted pregnancies. However, next time, read the box! You are supposed to take the second pill 12 hours after you take the first pill, NOT take both pills at once. Taking the pills incorrectly decreases its efficiency.

I think that the fact that you bled indicates that you are not pregnant. Perhaps they double-dosed you on Plan B to give you those extra hormones to prevent ovulation...and to sterilize this month's process. I think it's a generally good sign that you were bleeding, though.
