My First Stone At 27, I've Got Questions.... Posted: 03-09-04 12:56pm
I recently was awoken from my sleep with
the most bizarre back pain, followed by
vomiting and extreme pain in my guts. I
immediately went to the er and was told
(after urinalysis and ct scan) that I have
a 7.5 mm kidney stone. It has yet to be
treated. My questions now are:
1. I have had little to no pain (some
cramping), is this common?
2. As a follow-up to 1, is it possible
to mis-diagnose a stone?
3. If I am in no pain, is it okay to
resume normal activity (i.E., I am really
itching to go for a jog)?
My urologist recently scheduled me for
lithotripsy, but has otherwise been
unavailable for answers to such questions.
Any insight would be appreciated.
