Placebos...and No Period? Posted: 07-12-07 00:10am
okay here's the deal
I am on Seasonale (84 active / 7 placebo)
Anyway, near the end of my last pack (last
week of active pills), my boyfriend and I
had sex (with a condom that did not tear
or come off). But during that week I
missed 2 pills because of leaving them
home when I went on a trip (really smart).
So I decided I might as well just have
that be the start of my placebo week.
Once I miss a pill, about a day later I
have normal period bleeding (not just
spotting).
So that week was heavier than normal
bleeding which took longer than normal to
cease once I was back on the active pills.
Anyway, so I kept taking my pills like
normal and didn't experience any spotting
(which I normally do at random times
throughout the months) and that was odd
for me so after about 30 days of active
pills, I decided to come off of them for a
few days (to see if I could be pregnant)
to see if the bleeding starts like it
ALWAYS does ...and it didnt! It's now the
3rd day of being off of Seasonale and no
bleeding.
I'm guessing I'm not pregnant, but I do
have some of the symptoms (which could
probably be from a number of things). I
was just wondering if this has happened to
anyone else? I mean has anyone else always
had the "period" start the day after their
last active pill....and then the next time
have it come late in the placebos...or not
at all? ..were you pregnant or was it
normal? I'm just confused because it's
never like this. Any help would be great.
Hopefully how I worded things was
understandable.

I took Seasonale for about two years and
it was pretty normal for me to have little
to no bleeding while on that pill. That is
actually one of the desired side effects
while on that pill. If you think you might
be pregnant though, you can go ahead and
take a test to put your mind at ease.
Also, bc pills give you a lot of pregnancy
side effects. You are probably fine but it
doesn't hurt to test.
