Baby Getting Comfy! Posted: 07-12-07 03:39am
I am 36.6weeks gone (37 weeks
tomorrow!!!!!) Anyways I just wanted to
know how you girls knew your baby was
becoming engaged into your pelvis??
I keep looking at my bump and it doesnt
look like its dropped at all. Should it be
obvious to tell even if its only dropped
abit?
The thing is I keep getting this horrible
painful feeling really low down. It feels
like (srry this is abit tmi) like the baby
is trying to claw its way out or
something!!! It only lasts a few seconds
but it hurts!! and its been going on for a
couple of days now. Do you think this
could be baby pushing down?

that pain sounds familiar. i really
didn't notice when the baby dropped until
people kept pointing it out to me.
everyone was like "oh wow you're carrying
low". then the doc said that the head was
engaged. i didn't really feel much of a
difference except that i had more pressure
between my legs and in my groin when i
would first stand up especially. i
actually don't have as much pain now as i
did then, or maybe i'm just getting used
to it. you're getting clooooossserrrrr!!

I know it is getting close!! Its scary to
think I had both my other children at 38
weeks!!!
Although I didnt go into natural labour
with either of them. !st was a planned c
section and my with my 2nd my waters broke
but my labour didnt start and I had to be
induced because I had gbs! So hopefully
this time I'll do it like I am supposed
too!! Even if it does mean waiting till I
am 42 weeks!!

to me but I go in for non stress test and
talk with the nurse there all the time and
she said when your baby drops it feel like
a knife being stuck into your vagina! But
thats just what she told me I have no idea
from personal experience

Yep that sounds like it! I have gone from
uncomfortable to painful in the last few
days...I really dont look like I have
dropped at all though I
have an appt with my consultant on Monday
so I suppose I will find out then!
I'm not sure about how to tell if your
baby is engaged, I never noticed any
drastic change with Rowan before she came.
I was induced though, so that is a
factor.
I do know that I had pains that sound like
what you have, for weeks before she came.
It felt like tearing or stabbing pains and
sucked really badly. I thought they meant
she was coming soon, but nope. Everyone
is different though!
