Penile numbness affecting shaft , sex life , and orgasms Posted: 07-14-07 02:59am
I have had penile numbness for about 3
years now. It was very mild but has
gradually increased - both in the
"intensity" of the numbness, and in the
areas of the penis, now moving around the
shaft and upt o about 80 percent. It is
affecting orgasm and my sex life. But
there is absolutely no erectile
difficulty. What could this be from?
Please help. Thank you.

You'll need a neurological examination to
objectively identify any “penile
numbness”. Skin on the penis is usually
very sensitive to touch and pain.
Generally, an erection can be provoked in
2 ways:
1. By local stimulation of the penis skin,
especially on the penis’s head. This is
a local reflex that is controlled by the
spinal cord and
2. By erotic thoughts. This is controlled
by the brain.
If you really had penile numbness, the
first erection mechanism would be
disturbed.
