just wondering, because i have my gluclose test tomorrow morning at 8:15 am, can i eat beforehand? i should have called my doctor today, but i was out & about running errands, so it totally slipped my already frazzled mind.

also, it's just a drink & a blood test, correct? nothing more involved?

thanks.

i was told to eat as i normally would before going in. though if you fail and have to take the 3 hour test you will have to fast.

yup, it's just a drink, then you have to sit for an hour, then they take your blood.

i was told not to eat anything. Confused that's the first, one hour test right? that's the only one i took and they told me no food after midnight but i could have water. maybe it depends on what time of day you have it. mine was at 9 am i think. or maybe it depends on the doctor, but even the tech who did the test asked me if i had eaten that day.

I was told to eat normally, but to try not to eat anything super-sugary like a donut because it might alter the results of the test. You should be okay with a bagel or something, I would think.

haha. aw. neither am i. i'm not good with needles in general, though. which is why i really need something - anything! - in my stomach before i get any type of prick. i passed out right after one of my tests. it was really embarrassing, too.

i'll stick with a bowl of special k. my daily morning breakfast. usually i add some sugar, but i'll leave it out for the sake of the test.
