Should I Be Worried?
Posted: 07-16-07 00:45am

Hey everyone,

A few months ago I missed my period. This is strange for me, because I've never missed a period before (I'm 20). I've been on birth control for almost 2 years now and take it religiously. Anyway, I took two pregnancy tests four days apart and they were both negative. The following two months I had my period like normal, so I figured it was just stress related. But then this month I've missed it yet again, though I've had all my period symptoms! I took another test and its negative. Now I've had a crap load of stress this month, but is this really what it is?

Help! Should I be worried?

only time i missed a period when i wasn't pregnant was when i had an ovarian cyst. i don't know what's causing you to miss your period and no one on here will be able to tell you. you have to see a doctor to figure that out. but that's one reason i know of. it's nothing to be too worried about if it's that because the majority of them are benign and go away on their own or with very little treatment. still, you need to check it out with your doctor. i can't really think of anything else off the top of my head except stress and weight loss or gain can cause it if it's extreme. it seems to me some std's can cause it as well but i'm not too sure about that one. hopefully it's nothing but i'd get it checked out just to be safe. good luck.

Hey, it does sound like it is just stress. I wouldn't worry about it too much!

Hey, about a month ago I was under a TON of stress and my period was late, so it can happen!

also after time, some birth control pills can cause you to skip periods, or stop you from getting them full stop and it could take a couple of years. I was on birth control for only 6 months and i stopped getting periods full stop so it could be that

Thanks guys.

It sucks because it's nice not having your period but then all you can do is worry. Anyway, hearing all these responses is a sort of relief. Thanks!
