How the Pro-choice Movement Saved America

I've read this book in its entirety and it is wonderful.

http://www.amazon.com/How-Pro-ch oice-Movement-Saved-America/dp/0465054897< /a>

The reason why i placed this here and not in the pro-choice forum is because although the title sounds biased, the book is recommended to both pro-choicers and pro-lifers since the author found a common ground between the two factions; both groups wants to reduce the rate of abortions in our country.

This is a very factual book and it has about 40 plus pages of work cited to back up her statements.

I'm sorry if I sound like I'm advertising this, But I just thought that it might help some of us here to be enlightened.

Can you highlight some of the important stuff? I'd love to read it but time and money stand like the Mouth of Sauron in front of the Black Gates of Mordor for me right now.

Watch it there! I am from Riverside Iowa, the future birthplace of Captain James T. Kirk, you know. Our town is featured in that movie by the way!

OK off-topic aside, I would love to hear some of the highlights!

You're from Riverside!!! That is great!!! Isn't that the place where they have the party, and the dude goes, "one year, a girl showed up". God, that was so dang funny, I had to rewind it and watch it again!

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Star Trek; but some of those people have serious reality issues. Laughing By the way, I found the kid who was picky about the uniform on myspace.

I loved that kid!!!

Hey all! I know I haven't been on for a while. I've actually been switching jobs and visiting with friends who are moving away. As much as I loved working for Planned Parenthood, I could not financially afford to continue on at a non-profit, especially since neither I or my husband are independently wealthy (the rest of my co-workers at other locations are) and there were a lot of assumed costs.

But back to topic, I love How the Prochoice Movement Saved America, I used to keep it on my desk for reference of many things.

One of the best parts of it, is the section that details how choice and birth control have actually benefitted men and basically how the society that the prolife people promote is not possible if women are to be respected as equal members of the society.

I highly recommend it to everyone. It's very well written for a non-fiction book and also more humerous and factual than .the .war .on .choice.
Peace,
Jenn

Funny, Jenn, I was just wondering yesterday where you had gone off to. Glad to see you are back. How is the new job?

Sucks but hopefully it's temporary. In a couple of years, I'm leaning more and more toward going to law school. For now, working for the state is fine even if it is mindless busy work and people whose greatest ambition is to own a double-wide trailor, two trucks, a couple of hounds, and a litter of children.

It could be worse though, I could have to stay at home! Shocked

LOL! And it's good news about the Capitals, Hooray!
Peace,
Jenn
