What treatments have you had to treat your tmd----has it worked?

you can list it like this eg.
1.massage therapy--didnt work but sure felt great
2. splint thereapy---worked for a while and then stopped--dont know what happened.

and so on. I think this will give us a better idea of treatments that are out there and how many actually work for us.

1. Splint Therapy - works good at night because I grind my teeth alot
2. Infra red therapy - works excellent to relieve inflammed muscles and joint pain....BUT it's very expensive and you have to do it once a week. So I had to stop that, when I had it I could eat normally.
3. Accupuncture - great for reliving headaches
4. IMS - I just started this a couple weeks ago, it's VERY painful but I'm seeing some improvements (iSTOP.org for more info)
5. Laser theraphy - Just started this a couple weeks ago aswell and I haven't felt any difference yet.
6. Ultrasound massage on my jaw joint - didn't see a different, it actually seemed to give me ear aches.
7. Elecrode theraphy for my neck and back - I got great results for my neck and back pain from doing this.

August 14th they are suppose to inject steriods into my joint to try to stretch it out - im trying to avoid this as much as possible by doing IMS and laser therapy.

Hope this helps
