How Low Is Low Lying Placenta a Danger? Posted: 07-18-07 05:57am
HI, im @ 29wks pregnant and since im
visiting a subsidised O&G clinic, the
doc did not say much about my condition,
unless i took a specialist. I just want
some of my questions answered so that i
can put my mind at ease, especially since
there have been recent report in SG about
mummies dying from prefused bleeding due
to this condition.
I just wish o know how low is being too
low and a danger to the mummy? the doc
just told me that i was @ 2.6cm and that i
have to be @ 5cm to be in the
'safe-zone'..... or so he says. what does
that mean? do i have enough time for the
placenta to 'move'?
secondly, since the lower part of out
uterus is not as nurtient rich as the
upper part, what can i eat or do to make
the nutrient exchange more efficent? the
chart shows that my bby is @ 1kg
currently, just a little bit lighter than
expected.
lastly, can i opt for a normal birth? the
doc kept pestering me to take a specialist
and opt for a C-section. i had a c-section
2 years before and i was a very unpleasant
experience. any tip or precaution i should
take in time of labout?
thanks, any answers to my doubts will b
greatly appreciated.
