So i went to the doctor yesterday to get
my symptoms checked out. I have had very
bad periods i skip them alot and when i do
have them they are so heavy that its hard
for me to do anything i have to wear
tampons and pads. I have very bad
abdominal and pelvic pains all the time
and they seem to get worse when im on my
period. When me and my husband try to have
sex it hurts so bad just to put it in
there that we can never finish what we
start. I also told the doctor about how i
spot alot in between periods and lately my
stomach has been so full and bloated it
makes me look about 10 lbs heavier than i
really am. The pain has gotten worse in me
pelvic area over the past month to the
point i am popping ibuprofin like its
candy and it still dosent help. my old
doctor put me on neproxin and birth
control and that just made the periods i
do have alot heavier and didnt help the
pain. The birth control didnt even help
regulate my cycle so i stopped taking it
after a year. i also told my doctor and my
family history of cancer.
He did a pelvic exam and only lasted a
couple minutes which i thought was wierd
because the last couple ive had lasted
about 10 or 15 minutes. After that he made
me take a urine test and did all that then
gave me his results. Basically he thinks
that the pain is all in my head. he says
everything is normal and gave me some
medicine for a little bladder infection i
had. Should i get a secound opinion i mean
he acted like i was faking my symptoms and
told me basically im just destined to have
all this crap happen. He thinks the reason
why it hurts when i have sex is that im
nervous and thats not true. i dont
understand this. can anyone give some
advice. i had posted a forum last week
about all my symptoms and stuff.
also i did recieve an abnormal pap smear
about a year and a half ago but i did not
tell him about this because they said it
was a mild abnormality

My first thought on reading this is that
you have fibroid tumors - which are 100%
benign (noncancerous).
You should always get a second opinion if
you feel your doctor isn't listening to
you or hasn't given you the correct
diagnosis. Doctors are only doctors - we
are the keepers of our own bodies. If
something is wrong, we know better than
someone who spoke to us for 10 minutes,
you know? Trust your instincts. If you
want to see someone else go for it. Be
sure to see a gyno though. You are well
past the family doctor stage. A gyno will take
you more seriously with your female
parts.
