HIV and immune system - Bronchitis Posted: 07-18-07 18:43pm
I could have possibly been exposed to HIV
about a year ago. Currently my whole
family is getting over Bronchitis. Except
for me...I never got sick. I stayed home
allday everyday for the past two weeks
pretty much taking care of them. This has
happened before with other illnesses...I
always seem to escape it. Wouldnt this
mean I have a fairly strong immune system.
If I had HIV wouldnt I have atleast come
down with the Bronchitis?

Maybe, but not necessarily. HIV often
does not take its toll on the body right
away. Many people even live with it for
years without showing any signs or
symptoms at all.
So if you might have been exposed in the
past, no harm in getting a test just to be
sure.
