37 Weeks With Some Questions... Posted: 07-18-07 20:53pm
ok i have a couple of questions now that
i'm 37 weeks, any opinions would be great!
First is about cervical mucus. I heard
that i should be getting more of it and it
should get thicker? But mine seems to be
getting more watery and mostly clear. I
told my ob and she was like that's ok, but
she didnt explain why or anything. I was
wondering if anybody else had the same
thing? Also about the mucus plug... do you
lose it all at once or can you lose bits
and pieces of it over time? reason i'm
asking is because my cervical mucus has
been clear and watery and then today and
yesterday there was a small amount of
mucus (like a chunk sorry for the tmi lol)
when i wiped and it looked like snot, no
blood. So could that be part of my mucus
plug? I don't have any infections or
anything so thats ruled out. Sorry for
the long post but i was also wondering how
do i know if my baby is dropping? Recently
i find it easier to breath and i think i
have dropped a bit? But i still feel him
in my ribs every once in a while. So can
dropping take a week or so, or is it all
at once kind of thing? And last question
is i have not slept in 3 weeks at least...
not cuz i'm not tired. I just cannot
sleep due to going to the washroom so
often, and simply i can't stay in a deep
sleep. any advice or tips to help me
sleep? Ok i'm done lol, thanks again for
any comments:)

i've had the same thing as far as mucus
goes. it's mostly clear or a little
yellowish. i know this is totally gross
but it looks like snot. lol. sorry. it
is mucus after all. mine's been getting
steadier as time passes. there was only
one time where it had any colour in it
when it had some little brownish streaks
which i suppose was old blood.
the baby does drop gradually. they say
drop but that just means it becomes
engaged in the pelvis and slowly works
it's way down. when you have had a child
previously, i think it happens more
suddenly right before birth.
as far as sleeping goes, i wish i could
help. i'm pretty much in the same boat.
i think a lot of it has to do with your
metabolism because it goes non-stop when
the baby is growing unlike normally where
you have active and slow periods in your
metabolic rate. that's a big part of why
it's so hard to settle down at night and
just sleep. i'm sure it's to gear you up
for sleeping like babies do too. they nap
for short periiods of time and you have to
sleep when they do and wake up when they
do. it's all part of nature's clever
design even though it sux!! lol.
