heared babies heart beat for the first time....BIG sigh of relief there!!
Heartbeat was 150.

And i have only put on 3kg (6.6pound) since i have been pregnant. I am now 17 weeks and 5 days.

the fundal height is the height from the top of your pubic bone to the top of your uterus. it usually roughly corresponds to your gestation in weeks. i think it's within 3 cm or so. so if you are measuring 19 cm you should be within 3 weeks of that in gestation give or take.

Glad to hear that everything is going great! My doctor has never measured my fundal height, and I'm 21 weeks. Is there a certain point that they start measuring? Smile

they probably aren't too worried about measuring yours because you just had an ultrasound. i can't remember when my doctor started measuring.

I've only been measured once and i'm 17 weeks. I was measured at my first visit, and that's it.

Thanks! I was just curious. You're probably right about them not being concerned since I've already had 2 ultrasounds and a 3rd on the 30th.

Generally, midwife's will not measure your fundul height until you are at least 24 weeks, but mostly it starts at 28 weeks then after at every ante natal. This is because before 28 weeks, it gives really no reassurance that your uterus and baby are growing well, as some women don't have a bump at 20, 24, 26 weeks but this doesn't go to say their baby isn't ok.

This is what I was told anyway as when I went to the big hospital cos they though I was in preterm labour at almost 24 weeks, I measure 26 cm so was worried I'd have a huge baby but sure enough I went at 28 weeks and I was 28 cm. And have continued to stick on each week.
