Parkinsons And Hallucinations Posted: 07-20-07 03:28am
Hi. I'm 47 year old women. Parkinson's
Disease runs in my family. My father had
it, and hi sister too. I'm having some
hallucinations lately. I haven't been to
doctor yet. Could I have Parkinson's
Disease? I know that my chances of having
it are big and I'm going to check, but
right now I need some consolation .... Can
hallucinations be from something else ?
Thanks
Psychotic symptoms like hallucinations are
possible in Parkinson disease but only in
the final stages of the disease.
Hallucinations can be due to neurological
disorders (delirium, dementia etc.) or
psychiatric disorders (schizophrenia,
paranoia etc).
If you are aware that what you see or hear
is not true then you don't have
hallucinations but false hallucinations.
Do you still experience "hallucinations"?
