i dont want to scare you. they will numb the teeth so you wont feel any thing. then they will use a drill to get all bad parts out. and then they will fill it with the material that they use for fillings. no sweat. it will be fine.

you will not feel the drill, that's what the numbing is for at the beginning. when they numb the area, you will feel a little sting from the needle. that's about it as far as discomfort. it's no big deal. just chill Smile

Numbing Gel

My dentist used a numbing gel on the area where the needle goes in so I didn't feel a thing even he put the needle in. Ask your dentist if he or she will do the same for you.

I've had several fillings, due to my laziness. My dentists used a gel (flavor of your choice) and after letting it sit on my gums she injected me ( i ttly freaked, but i didn't feel a thing and i am terrified of needles. Just make sure that you hold still or else you'll feel it ( i can say this from experience). I'am always scared about going in to the dentist, but after they clean out the rotted part they fill it (don't run your tongue ovr it during the process)! lol anyways it's been a reminder to brush better, especially now that i have braces- joy joy!!
Hope all goes well

You've Got Nothing to Worry About.

I was horrified to here i had to have two fillings last time i went to the dentist as it was my first time. My b/f totally freaked me out by going on about how they jab u in the gum wit massive needle blah blah blah but its all rubbish mate - well u do have to have an injection in your gum but it doesn't hurt hardly at all (and i'm a massive wuss wen i cums to things like this) The worst bit was wen he was drilling the dead stuff away - it felt as if he was drilling my whole flippin tooth away really its miniscule, and that was only bad coz of the vibrations in your mouth but deffo no pain.
Just try to relax n pretend your floatin on a cloud n you'll prob enjoy it lol =0) x

Dentistry has come a long way, I know because I have bad teeth. I also feel it depends what dentist you go to. If you are in the NY area check out my dentist.
Dr. Shawn Sadri He's really good and it also helps that he's HOT. lol. hey if you are gonna be at the dentist might as well have a hot guy's hands in your mouth. lol
