I see many different books and online site
about when the first one ends. Im 12 weeks
2 days. Help me please

I say that your second trimester starts
around 13 1/2 to 14 weeks. Some books say
it starts at 12 weeks but I go with the
later date.

I know what you mean. I'm getting close to
the end of the first too. I am 11 weeks
today. I say 13 1/2 because that's pretty
much 1/3 of the pregnancy.

if you really want to be sure, why don't
you just count backwards from your due
date. for example, if my due date is july
23rd, i just count backwards - june 23rd,
may 23rd, april 23rd etc. for 9 months.
that way you have a date you can go by to
see how many months you are. the
trimester dates are a little bit arbitrary
anyway. your body and baby will change
according to their own calendar. the
weeks are used to help figure out a rough
schedule of where you should be in the
development and growth but it's not exact.

i think its jan 30
edited to add: i was wrong i went by what
she said of being 12 weeks 2 days and she
was a day ahead of herself.

ok, so count back from that...
jan 30- 9 months
dec 30- 8 months
nov 30- 7 months
oct 30- 6 months
sept 30- 5 months
aug 30- 4 months
july 30- 3 months
june 30- 2 months
may 30- 1 month
so your first trimester ends on july 30.
your second trimester ends on oct 30.
make sense?
edit: i just saw you said the 31st, so
just add a day (except there aren't always
31 days in a month so just go by the last
day of each month).

the reason theyre all different is because
the trimester is an arbitrary date. if
you wanted to get really technical you
could divide 40 weeks into 3 and get 13.3
weeks, then your first trimester could end
at 13.3 weeks. trimester means 3 months.
but months don't divide equally into
weeks. so just pick a number from one of
the books and go by that.

I know I'm late in responding, but I
checked the 2 books I have and asked my
doctor before in the past and they all say
that your 2nd trimester begins at week 14
(b/c of the fact that when you fins out
you're pregnant you already add 2 weeks on
at the beginning.) So you are 14 weeks
pregnant but baby is only 12 weeks - make
sense?!
