Bleeding
Posted: 07-20-07 23:11pm

I had missed my period and had all the symtoms of being pregnant, but got a negative home test. I went to the doctors on Wednesday for blood work and it came back postive that i am pregnant. Last night i started to bleed and it was brown, as if it was old blood from maybe left over period from last month. Today it got worse and it's like having my period, red blood, regular flow. No cramping really, just the slight cramping ive had for a week now from the uterus stretching. I already had implantation spotting last week before my missed period, what could this bleeding be? Should i be worried about a miscarriage? It's started to slow down tonight, i took another blood test today to check my levels, i get results on monday. I still have morning sickness, sore breasts and all the other wonderful signs of pregnancy, (my breasts started to just get sore today) should i be really worried? I'm so nervous, i'm only 5 weeks along. Any advice? I've heard some women do bleed through out pregnancy and theres no explanation for it, it usually stops.

Everywhere that i've read online from the medical webpages it says the slight cramping is okay. Most of them say this "Cramping that is similar to menstrual cramps occurs very early during pregnancy and happens when the uterus begins to expand to make room for the embryo to develop into a fetus that continues to develop for a total of 40 weeks gestation when your baby is born."
Thanks so much for your input though, i have seen the dr. and i'll get my results on monday morning to see if my levels have gone up. I'm so scared, hope for the best for me!

Though red blood can mean trouble, your baby may be just fine. If you have a lot of blood or any clots, then I would call the doctor right away. I had some bright red blood when I was pregnant with my 2nd child. I was freaked out and went to the dr, and everything was just fine. She is now 3! If you are still having pregnancy symptoms, it shows that you are still producing hormones. There just may be a problem with how much you are producing. They may opt to give you hormone injections or pills to help you out if you aren't producing enough. Just try and take it easy as much as possible until you find out your test results! Stay off your feet! It's a good reason to get pampered anyway! Let me know how your test turns out!

It's not too soon to get cramping. While not everyone has it, many women feel as if they are going to start their period at any moment. Really all you can do at this point is just relax and put your feet up. At this point in pregnancy, if you were miscarrying there is nothing a doctor could do so you are doing the best thing by resting. It could very well be nothing so just relax. Please let us know how the results turn out tomorrow.

Today i went to the doctor, my results for the HcG was 5. They did an additional test and once again it was at 5. They told me i must've had a miscarriage...yet when i bled i never passed any clots or tissue, which doesnt make sense to me. Im still expierencing symtpoms and i will be going to a different doctor on the 31st for a follow up and another blood test. I'm praying that something went wrong with the blood test, the hospital i've been going to isn't the best and they were extremely rude to me about the whole thing, they didnt even offer a follow up blood test to make sure or a D&C, all the said was your levels haven't gone up, you must've had a miscarriage, bye and they hung up on me. I'm so upset and hurt...this is an awful feeling.
