Help!!! Baby Won't Take Bottle Posted: 07-23-07 13:04pm
I am currently breastfeeding. I went back
to work for 2 weeks, and he took a bottle
from his grandma, no problem. I took
another month off of work and for the past
2 weeks I have been trying to give him a
bottle. Well, I leave the house and
someone tries to give it to him and he
won't take it. I went to a wedding and my
sister tried to feed him, and he didn't
want it, screamed the entire time and
waited 6 hours until I came home to eat.
Now, I had to go back to work, and the
babysitter just called me and said he
won't take the bottle and he is hungry.
can anybody help me solve this
problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????? Please, i'm
so frustruated, I have to go and feed him
on my lunch hour now that he won't take
the bottle....help help asap!!!!

Have you tried different types of bottles?
Your baby may do better with a different
style of nipple. If you have tried this,
you may have to do it the hard way. I
have heard of doctors telling moms that
the baby will eventually get hungry...just
to keep trying to give the bottle. It
sounds very heartbreaking to me...I don't
know if I could do it myself. Your baby
just knows what he/she wants, and the
bottle isn't it! Good luck with this one!

I've tried different bottles. He just
makes the funniest face as soon as you put
it in his mouth. He's smart, he knows
that it's rubber!!! I just bought those
nipples that are supposed to be closest to
a nipple. Of course, they are too small
to fit my avent bottles, so now i have to
go out and buy new bottles to try that one
out. Hopefully it'll work.
I just called the doctor and they said
he'll eventually get hungry!!! I said,
he's so stubborn that he'll outlast that
bottle, when he waited about 8 hours for
my return. That's entirely too long, so I
just gave in and fed him on my lunch hour.
I don't want to have to keep doing that
because he needs to learn.
Heck, he won't even sleep in his own
crib!!!!
