Fat Burners - Stimulants Or Metabolic Boosters Posted: 07-24-07 09:26am
My friends keep mentioning that they see
results when taking various weight loss
supplements. I am very sensitive to
anything that contains stimulants, but
most of these labels don’t mention
stimulant, they just mention the
ingredient, i.e. Ephedrine.
I read that said products with Ephedra
are, to the contrary, not fat burners but
stimulants. And there is a difference. It
basically has similar side affects as
caffeine. And for people with coronary
conditions, could be just as detrimental.
Any thoughts? Has anyone sensitive to
caffeine or stimulants had success with
Ephedra based products with no side
affects?

April 12, 2004, the FDA issued a final
rule banning the sale of
ephedra-containing dietary supplements.
Tommy Thompson, the Secretary of Health
and Human Services, stated that "...These
products pose unacceptable health risks,
and any consumers who are still using them
should stop immediately."[9]
