Cervical Decompression Surgery For Syrinx-help! Posted: 07-25-07 10:55am
I am scheduled for this surgery on Aug
8th. I am unable to discuss any further
with the specialist as he is away,
returning on Aug 7th.
The procedure requires the neck to be cut
open and the C-3/C4 removed, grafting of
the bone and instrumentation.
How dangerous is this? I have experienced
slow degeneration and atrophy of my right
hand, 3rd and 4th fingers mobility and
spasms/invountary movement in the arm from
time to time, also weakness. the point is
I can still cope as I don't have severe
pain (now and then neck pain), should I
wait or go ahead? I am scraed of the risks
and complications as I still have a
reasonably good quality of life

I have a syrinx but it is inoperable.
Go to WWW dot ASAP dot ORG for a
syrinx-specific message board.
