Could She Be Pregnant?
Posted: 07-25-07 22:21pm

I had protected sex with with a girl on july 21 with a spermicidal condom, after coming inside her, we stopped and I noticed the condom was empty, and found a small hole about an inch down the shaft. About 10 minutes later after she had washed herself thoroughly and searched frantically, I found a large puddle of ejaculate on the bed about a foot away from where she was on the bed during sex. Just to be careful I urged her to take a Plan B contraception pill, which she did within about 24 hours. I know it takes only a little to get a girl pregnant, but it was a week after her period and she was no where close to ovulation. I am still freaking, but is there anything should really be worries about?

well done on using protection! If she used plan B, she wont get pregnant. Also just a side note, even though it was only a week after her period, she could still have gotten pregnant if she hadnt used plan B. Againg well done on using protection

just for reference.
based on a typical (average) 28 day cycle.
based on the fact that sperm *can* survive for upto 5 days inside a fertile female.
day one is the first day of bleeding.

ovulation occurs around 14 days BEFORE a womans period.
this typically means around day 14 of her cycle.
therefore the sex most likely to get a woman pregnant occurs on the 5 days before and including ovulation - ie days 10 thru 14 inclusive.

Howwever, not all women have a 28 day cycle and even those that do - rarely have a "text book" cycle.
ovulation can occur early or late - you have no way of knowing, so always assume a female is fertile at any time.

thanks this puts my mind at great rest, it all happened so fast. Luckily she was onboard for the Plan B and plus the condom was spermicidal, I still have moments of doubt now and then but she has a couple weeks to go until she can hopefully tell me that shes not pregnant

I Think She Had Her Period?
Posted: 09-02-07 14:26pm

the girl I had sex with called me telling me that she had gotten her period, which lasted for her typical 4 days, it happened early on and both of us were surprised as well as relieved. She later felt that it might have been a side effect from the pill itself. She now tells me she has gotten her period again on the next cycle. Was the first "period" an actual period.
