My last regular period was April 6th
through April 12th. I had an irregular
period at the beginning of May but my
cycles were off for a few months and I
can't determine what the exact date was.
My husband and I had been having
unprotected sex for 2 1/2 years and
couldn't get pregnant. On May 29th I made
a huge mistake and had sex with someone
else. I did use protection the only
problem is...I found out 8 days later I
was pregnant. The following day, which was
June 7th, I had an ultrasound and they
measured me 5 weeks and 0 days. On June
21st I was measured 7 weeks and 0 days
then I began bleeding so I had another
ultrasound 4 days later and measured 7
weeks and 4 days. All of my ultrasounds
measure to the day every time but my
Doctor says I conceived between May 13th
and May 21st but my due date is February
8th and that would only be a 38 week
pregnancy if she is right. I also
researched the brand of home pregnancy
test I took and it says I could test
positive as little as 8 days after
conception. I can't help but to worry that
this is not my husband's child. Someone
please help me and give me some guidance
because I know this stress is not good for
my child. Also, my husband is aware of
this and I have discussed having an amnio
to determine parternity with my doctor but
she will not order the amnio for me
because she says it is not a legitimate
reason. I just can't wait for this child
to be born to know who he or she belongs
to...I need to know now.

9 days after your "fling" you measured as
5 weeks exactly.
9 + 14 = 23 days (+14 because of adding 2
weeks from date of conception)
5 * 7 = 35 days
= no chance of this pregnancy being a
result of your fling.
A pregnancy is indeed 38 weeks from the
date of conception. However because most
people know the date of their period and
not the date of conception doctors add
those 2 weeks on and count from an average
28 day cycle.
My educated guesstimate is that you
conceived around May 18 - meaning sex in
the 5 days prior to and including May is
most probable to have resulted in this
pregnancy.
This means you were already pregnant when
you had your "fling".
