Birth Control And Firbrosis of the Breasts???? Posted: 07-26-07 23:56pm


I am interested to know if there is any forms of Birth Control for women that do not increase the chances of Breast Cancer. Especially for a woman who has Breast Cancer in her family and has Fibrosis of the Breasts. Thanks John

Most studies have shown no significant increased risk for breast cancer from oral contraceptive use, for women who take oral contraceptives when compared to women who do not take oral contraceptives, due to less estrogen they content than those commonly prescribed 20 years ago. You can think about using non-hormonal BC such as inter-uterine device, contraceptive sponge, and other methods.
