13th Week In Pregnancy- Question Posted: 07-27-07 00:01am
I am 13 weeks pregnant. I was curious to
see how it would look if my stomache was
flat, so I sucked in my gut and smashed in
my stomach a little for a few seconds. Now
I am worried if I harmed mybaby??( baby's
amniotic fluid )

He, or she is just a little guy right now.
Your body is made for caring that baby.
She/he will be protected. I don't think
any harm was done.

probably not if you haven't noticed
anything yet. the uterus is a pretty
tough muscle and at 13 weeks it's still
pretty strong. it's got bands of muscles
overlapping to make it stronger and allow
it to stretch as your baby grows. what
you have to be careful of is bringing on
contractions doing something like that.
you don't want to overstimulate your
uterus. you also risk injuring the
muscles and ligaments around your uterus
that are being stretched and weakened to
accomodate the baby. if you were to get
any spotting or contraction like pains
then you should be concerned but if that
hasn't happened yet then i doubt you did
any harm. be careful! you're pregnant so
get used to the idea of being round and
embrace it!

i would say yeah. how hard were you
pushing on it? it's hard for me to say
because i wasn't there but the baby is
well protected in there with the muscles
and fluid surrounding it. i've heard of
women falling right on their bellies and
the baby is fine. if you are still
worried you could always call a nurse or
doctor or the hospital on call doctor to
make sure. but if you're having no signs
of anything i'm sure there's nothing to
worry about.

You know, the doctors push pretty hard
against your belly and it doesn't harm it.
So you're probably okay. Don't worry and
just enjoy the ride. I wish that I had
