i have had the marina for about a month or
so i just finished bleeding for 17 days
now and now i am having pains in my lower
stomach it feels like iam getting my
period again but there is no bleeding its
cramps around my whole lower stomach
around to my back has anyone had this is
this normal please let me know thanks

I don't have the hormonal mirena IUD.
However I have the copper IUD. From what
I've heard from other women's first hand
experiences, it is quite normal for a
women to bleed for a while after the
insertion of the the mirena.
Abnormal bleeding and cramps should also
be expected during the adjustment period
of several monhts. However, things will
get better. Mirena users often report
decrease in periods or no periods at all.

It is normal and may last up to 6 months
(or so they say).
For me, it lasted for the whole 9 months
and I finally got sick of it and got it
taken out. But I'd wait it out for a
while, because it goes away for most
people.
