Undiagnosed Illness--please, Someone Help Me!
Posted: 07-29-07 18:36pm

I am an 18 year old female, and I've been somewhat ill for as long as I can remember. In my short life I've had double pneumonia, countless bouts of the flu, mononucleosis, millions of sinus infections, the whooping cough, and allergies. After being severely ill with mono last February, I haven't been the same. I'm tired all the time, I feel nauseous, irritable and weak. I've been to the doctor countless times in hopes of finding some relief but no one seems to know what is the matter. I was put on Cymbalta for anxiety this past spring, but it doesn't seem to be helping. I can't help but wonder if my anxiety has developed into depression. I'm going away to college in a few weeks, but I don't know if I'll be able to make it if I can't feel better soon. I'm sick of being sick.
Please, someone, anyone, if you have any clue as to what could be wrong with me, let me know. I'm willing to talk to anyone who will listen! Sad

**EDIT** I also experience random shooting chest pains, shortness of breath, and dizziness.

-Totally hopeless, but still looking for a cure

no one can give you a diagnosis except for a doctor, and the symptoms you are talking about are very wide in range, your doctor should do blood work, if he hasnt already, your immune system seems to not be working right, and there is a large variety of immune disorders! seeing a specialist in this field would be a good idea, make sure to take a good multi vitamin, and a b complex, drink plenty of water daily, good hand washing where ever you are, even carry around the antibactial hand gel would be a good idea!do stress reducing exercising daily....
Keep at your doctor to get a proper diagnosis for whatever you may have, and it will be eaiser to deal with! ~~wishing you the very best~~ Smile

when my anxiety star6ts to come around like when i go through a big intersection while i am driving my chest pounds and hurts. I can not breath and because I feel like I can not breath. I get dizzy because or usually because I am hyper ventalating. I did not relize this until my friend pointed out. That's what it feels like for me anyways. Have you tried talking to a councellor or a pastor? Most of my life I have been sick as well or have had really bad things happen to me. Try when that feeling comes around to stop what you are doing pull over if driving. Take a deep breath hold and the breath out slowly very slowly. If close to water try drinking a 16 oz glass of water non stop and try to concentrate on something nnice like flowers or a cartoon what ever makes you relax this may help with the anxiety. As for the other stuff I need more info but I am not a doctor can only give you a guess based on my limited knowledge. I would really suggest if they can nnot find anything physical then go see a councellor. Has anything bad ever happened to you were you involved in a car accident, around when some you loved passed away. If you need to talk I am here. you can PM if you like to talk more privatly if you would like.
bye for now hugs

Anxiety medication and antidepressants can make you tired. I would keep going to the doctor and maybe keep a journal of your symptoms every day for awhile.
