I frequently suffer from cystitis and I am
constantly taking anti-biotics for this
problem. However, at the moment I seem to
be suffering from some kind of infection
that feels different to what I am used to.
This problem has been ongoing for several
weeks, it is not overly painful but is
just really persistant. In the mornings I
wake up with a tingly burning sensation
that generally subsides if I drink a
couple of glasses of water. If I keep
drinking plenty throughout the day it
doesn't come back but if I fail to keep
drinking then the niggling irritation
returns. Having been to see the doctor who
found blood in my urine I have been taking
ciprofloxacin - I have been taking these
for 4 days and I feel that the infection
is still there. I'm 29 years old and
reasonably fit but I can't help but wonder
if there is something wrong other than an
infection.

Antiobiotics Could not be working Posted: 07-13-08 15:48pm
Hi,
I have had this similar situation so I
understand. I suffer from bladder
infections all the time. I have tried the
cipro before and it didnt work for me. It
is really not the best antibiotic to use
for this type of infection. My doctor
tried it and my body wasnt reacting to it
so we changed to bactrim. Also, I have
used Keflex in the past and it also works
well. Everyone is different and sometimes
different medicines do not work.
I would suggest calling your doc and
asking her to change your medicine.
Also, drink plenty of fluids while taking
any of these medicines as they can cause
you to get yeast infection which is almost
as worse as bladder infection.
