Broken Condom With Sex Worker? Do I Need to Get PEP Theary ? Posted: 07-30-07 14:10pm
I was having sex with a sex worker last
nite. I was wearing condom as I always do.
The condom broke during the middle of
intercourse. I cummed inside her. I am now
scared that I will get HIV. Its has been
about 24 hrs since the episode.
I have read about PEP treatment which has
to be taken in 72 hrs from the time of
infection.
Please advise me on the treatment and
where I can take it (like medicines etc).
You would have to talk to your doctor or
an STD clinic about getting it.

I started with PEP duovir (same as
combivir) twice daily, but taking it for
about 3 days I developed side effect. I
felt nausa, and vomitting all the time,
so, had to stop. Now the doctor is saying
to wait for 3 months and than we will
deicide what to do next? Do you suggest
anything?

Sorry, I don't know what to suggest for
you at this point. I am not even all that
familiar with PEP. You could always get a
second opinion from a different doctor if
you're doubting your doctor a bit.
