Am I Pregnant, Despite Being On the Pill? Posted: 07-31-07 17:17pm
Hello,
I have been on Ortho Tricyclen Lo for one
year. I never missed a pill. But I am
worried that I may be pregnant.
My last period only lasted one day and a
half. It ended three days ago. My placebo
ended yesterday. During that brief one and
a half day of bleeding, there was a lot of
tissue in the blood and the blood was a
lot thinner than my typical periods.
During the same time period, I have had
food aversion. I did not wish to eat
anything other than popsicles. Normally, I
eat many small meals a day including meat,
vegetables, etc.
Furthermore, I was sick with a respiratory
infection and was on antibiotics during
the last several days. This may or may not
have been the cause of my fatigue.
My boyfriend and I do not use condoms but
he has not ejaculated in me for at least
one month - maybe 5 or 6 weeks. I do not
remember any outstanding details about the
period before this last one.
What are the odds of me being pregnant?
Besides over the counter tests, what else
can I do to find out?

no form of contraception is 100% accurate.
i was on the pill and used condoms when i
fell pregnant with william. instead of
taking the usual pregnancy tests, you can
go to your doctors and have a blood
sample. but if it comes out negative and
you still think you might be pregnant,
wait until your next period. if you dont
want to get pregnant, a second form of
contraception is always advisable. good
luck x
