Vaginal Odor, Thick Dark Hair All Over, Painful Periods..... Posted: 08-01-07 02:10am
I have been to my family doctor and also
my gynecologist to understand why I have
all these symptoms, but they both found
nothing.
I have serious hyperpigmentation in
sensitive areas......underarms, under
eyes, between breasts (velvety and thick
texture), under breasts, knees, elbows,
buttocks, vagina and anal areas, groin and
between thighs, nuckles on toes and
fingers and near the nails...the cuticle
area I think.
I weigh 145lbs and have actually lost
quite a bit of weight to get to this point
but no matter what I do I can't lose a
pound more than this. I can usually eat as
much as I like now without gaining more
than 1-2 pounds and the next day being
back to normal. I am overweight seeing as
I am 5ft 1" tall and 145lbs puts me at 27
BMI. NO THYROID PROBLEMS! I made sure my
doc checked that. I really need to lose
weight.
I am also very tired at all times of the
day, no energy.....I mean I can force
myself to do something I really really
want to do...but can't help but think
about the sofa or the bed instead of what
I am doing. I can sleep for upto 14 hours
comfortably until my back starts hurting.
Most days I'm just plain lazy...exhausted
even....some days I'm a little bit more
energetic....but still can't manage
getting up in the morning.
My period is absolutely awful, it has
gotten to the point where I've had to grab
my vaginal area or lower belly and slowly
drop to the floor cause of the pain. I've
actually almost lost consciousness from
the cramping when using a tampon for the
first time.
I have very long, dark and thick hair on
my face (upper lip, neck, cheeks, and
allover my face) on my cheeks, sideburns,
arms and legs is just so horribly thick
that even when I wax the hair just breaks
off before the follicle...which leaves
huge fat pepperspots. My stomach has long
hair and the lower you go down my waist
the more it looks like a mans body. My
buttocks and my private areas are very
dark and have long and thick hair allover.
My back, shoulders, chest and breasts also
have very thick dark hair. I am currently
getting laser hair removal on all of these
areas.
I also have a strong vaginal odor w/ no
itching or burning. Lots of discharge,
thick and white/gray or rarely thick and
clear. It gets so bad that I have to
change my underwear 2-3 times a day. It
constantly just smells down there. Never
had sex by the way.
I also sweat more than normal, and have to
use extra extra strong deo, or male
deodorant in order to control it.
I am sick and tired of these problems and
can't figure out how to deal w/ them all.
The Laser hair removal is costing me over
$7000 alone. If I began to take care of
the rest of my problems just cosmetically
then I wouldn't have money to eat.
I don't think I've ever gotten my
testosterone levels checked but I could
talk to my doc about that. The last test I
got was a ultrasound type thing of my
lower belly and above my vagina. The
results were normal...no ovarian
cysts...at least the gynecologist said
so.
If anyone could please help me figure out
what more tests I might need that can help
me figure out what I might have that would
be great. Any ideas what might be going on
w/ me? Suggestions would be amazing.
Thank you thank you THANK YOU sooooo
much!!!!

I would definitely get a hormone checkup.
Sounds like no fun.

HI,
I see a Fertility and Reproductive
Endocrinology doctor for a constant
bleeding problem (5 years) - maybe a
doctor in this type of area would be
helpful to you - at least some sort of
Endocrinologist would be able to help in
some way.
Contact the local university hospitals to
find a good doctor - I found the referral
line a big help in locating a doctor for
my needs.
Good luck and don't give up, it takes a
while to find a good doctor, but once you
do its worth the hassle.

Sounds like a testosterone imbalance. You
should def. see a specialist in that
field...because honestly, that sounds like
no fun. Good luck.

It sounds like you have PCOS. You're
doctor can help with a diagnosis. PCOS is
short for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.
There is no real test to confirm that you
do have this...but they can pretty much
tell by the symptoms you describe and
possibly and ultrasound of your ovaries.
you should read all about it online. Best
of luck to you.
