Hi. I have a 4 month old daughter and
every time she eats, it comes right back
up. She also, sometimes just throws up
water but makes the ugliest face when it
comes up. I was wondering if anyone had
any ideas as to what the problem was
and/or how to fix the problem. I'm going
through a divorce and medical benefits are
out of the question right now. Can anyone
help??

i had the same problem but when wills was
a bit younger, it was down to colic with
wills (trapped air bubbles so he couldnt
keep anything down), but there are many
posibilities and really need to speak to a
health professional before she starts
losing weight

She might have acid reflux. My daughter
did the same thing...she would throw up
her entire bottle. The doctor told me to
add baby cereal to her bottle. It works. I
had her on that for about 2 months and
she's almost five months now. Are you
giving her lil bowls of cereal yet? That
might stay down.

Hi, it could also be that your baby is not
ready for solid food at this time. My dr.
told me, when I asked him how do I know
when to start giving my son solid food?
He said..you will know..if he takes it
well, and only spits up or vomits a couple
of times, then keep trying, but only start
with the rice cereal, until he has a good
grasp of it. Don't introduce anything else
until he has mastered rice cereal.
He told me that if he wasn't tolerating
it, it was because his digestive system
was still too immature and to hold off
until 6 months.
Also, he said to never put cereal into a
bottle.
Hope this info helps.
I would go see my pediatrician for sure.
Susie.

thats weird that your doctor said not to
put cereal in the bottle. Many ppl have
told me to do that along with my
daughter's doctor. You can even find that
info online. There's nothing wrong with
putting cereal in a bottle. It helps them
get used to the cereal before you actually
give them a bowl of it. my daughter didnt
have any problems with that.

Putting cereal in bottles for babies with
acid reflux is a very common thing to do.
Trust me, if your baby is spitting
everything up it can definitely help. Your
doctor told you not to put it in bottles
because your baby does not have acid
reflux but that doesn't mean it's always
wrong.
