Passing Brown Mass At 5 Weeks Postpartum Posted: 08-02-07 09:08am


I am almost 5 weeks postpartum after a normal, healthy delivery. I stopped bleeding about 4 days ago then last night I suddenly had some brown discharge that was tinged pinkish red. I was VERY disturbed to find a pretty large sized brown mass in my underwear. It was not a blood clot and did not really have an odor. It was kind of spongy. I am not sure whether this is normal or if I should call my doctor. What could this be?

call your doctor!! could be tissue or placenta that may of have been left unknown!.....even if you could keep it to bring into the doctors! would be helpful to the doctor! ........always best to consult with a doctor!

Alot of chunky, weird things came out of my cooch after having a baby. The doctors said if it's any bigger than your fist, to call them.
