Well, this morning I was attempting to get
ready for work. Brandon went to tell the
dogs outside to shut up and when he got
out there he hollered for me to come out
there and help. We have two dogs and his
parents are staying with us right now and
they have two as well. We don't have a
fence right now so they were all tied up
on leads to play and go potty. Two of the
dogs had gotten their leads wrapped around
my pik-a-poos neck. Brandon literally took
the leads and stretched them apart until I
got out there. She wasn't breathing and
was completely limp when he found her but
as soon as he removed the cables she
gasped for air. He got the other dogs in
while I tended to here. She couldn't walk,
was hyperventilating and would only keep
her neck in one position and she was still
as limp as a rag. We rushed her to the
vet. On the way there her breathing slowed
down some thankfully and she started
moving around a little more. We got to the
vet and they gave her oxygen therapy and a
neuro exam, as well as a steroid shot to
help the breathing and swelling. Her neuro
exam was fine and amazingly there was no
damage to her trachea. The doc said it
seemed to just cut off the blood flow
instead of strangle her so we were very
lucky. She is doing great now but she is
still very tired and very scared of going
outside even if she is not on a leash.
After tonight she is going to stay with my
parents who have a fence until we move
into the new house that already has a
fence. I'm just so glad she's okay because
I could never forgive myself if anything
had happened to her. It all just happened
so fast though. She has spent the entire
day with me. We even took her to Sonic
with us and bought her a little hamburger
patty so she has definitely been treated
like a queen since that happened today.

I'm glad she's okay. Dogs are like
children. lol
I left my chihuahua at my mom's house when
I moved and I feel like a terrible doggy
mother b/c I don't go visit her and when
I'm there I don't pay attention to her b/c
I'm always tending to Ava.

Im glad shes okay!! I seen a cat get run
over today. It was so sad! The owners
picked it off the road and layed it to the
side and checked its vital signs but it
already passed. It made me want to cry

It was definitely scary. She's doing
really well though. She's still scared to
go outside today though. I am home with
her today again. I just feel like I should
be here with her after she was almost
killed yesterday.
