I Switched! Please Help!
Posted: 08-03-07 09:39am

1 month ago I switched from Cyclessa to Ortho lo because of the acne breakouts that I was getting and so far I love it. My face is definetly less inflamed, but my question is: Will I notice even more of a change in a good way after I'm on it longer? I am on the first week in my second pack. I heard a lot of bad things about Cyclessa and I hope I made the right decision. I have had no side effects from switching I just hope my skin clears up because I still have a lot of underlying congestion. Any comments would be helpful. How long does it take for all of the Cyclessa hormones to completely flush before I just have all Ortho lo ones??? Thanks!

I would give it a month, once full cycle of ortho-lo. I personally LOVED ortho-lo! It cleared up my face too Smile I was actually going to go onto accutaine before I got on ortho, and had to get on a form of bcp because on accutaine, you absolutely positively can't get pregnant. So I had to be on the bcp's for a month and then I could start accutaine... but that medicine terrifies me lol. And so I cleaned my face a lot and took the bcp's and my face cleared up!! I didn't have to go on accutaine!

I do have one question for you if you could please?! On my first pack I noticed my face clear up almost immediatley for the first three weeks, then on the sugar pills I started to get inflamed and had like 3 or 4 big ones on my cheeks. Will that ever go away once I am used to them?? I am allergic to all dairy so I have tried to eliminate that from my diet, but otherwise I am very strict with it, just wondering about the blemishes though. Thanks

Yeah, I still break out during my period... even after 2 years on the pills. Using extra-strength face-cleaners and peels during the placebo week and leading up to it may help reduce the breakouts.
