I seen some on Ebay for around 50-80. But that seems to be the cheapest i have seen too. I'm in the same boat. I don't have 200$ to pay for bedding. That's just nuts.

if i were doing it again i would not have gotten the crib set. mine was like $200 and it only came with 1 sheet, 1 skirt, 1 valance (how many rooms have 1 window?), a quilt, and a bumper. the quilt and bumper have been in the closet since i got them. i went nuts and ended up getting the matching lamp, throw blanket, rug, nightlight, and other valance, and now i think his room is way over the top and too matchy-matchy (i even had the throw pillows and basket liners on my registry, thank god nobody bought them!).

if you like a certain set of curtains with matching lamp and accessories, why not just try to find coordinating sheets and a skirt? that's what i wish i had done.

I don't see in spending that much money. Theres so much other things i would rather put more money into. I looking into getting really good photos done with the new baby, and family. Something i didn't get to do with Chyanne.

I never bough ta crib set, i just bought crib sheets at walmart, babies are us had some of the crib bumpers and stuff in solid colors to match. To me it seemed cheaper to buy it all seperately, if you have the time to look around. spertate pieces at seperate stores , i think its easier if u do a stripe , polka dot or solid themed room. I cant wait to move outa this place to decorate the kids rooms they are way to big here

Look at garage sales; you can often find good deals there.

I'm also not buying the sets--just a few fitted sheets sold separately in plain colors and a blanket. I'm not messing with bumpers since they might be linked with higher incidences of SIDS anyway and my mom never had bumpers with my sisters and I and we turned out fine.

The Target and Wal-mart bedding sets get good ratings for value in the "Baby Bargains" book.

Honestly, newborns dont need crib sets...bumpers are an aboslute NO NO...so are blankets...so really all you need are sheets...
They just look cute and are for decaration until the baby comes.
If you want cheap and good quality...ikea has some good deals
I find those cheap sets at target and stuff...feel so rough and fell 'cheap'.
I am just gonna get one from ikea...just for decorations..otherwise the crib looks bare...so I totally dont wanna spend 2bills.

I've never heard about the whole bumper thing... i used the bumper the whole time for my son since he started sleeping in his crib at about 3-4 months Confused ... i knew about the blankets though but i just use it to decorate the room while its not in use..

ya if you look on Any SIDS website...the american SIDS association I think...highly suggests they are not used because they decrease airflow into the crib...which is another 'potential' cause of SIDS.
Its kinda like what doesnt cause cancer? you gotta pick and choose which ones you feel comfortable with and which you are not.
