Q: Question About Wic

I was just curious, since I am married if I would have to claim mine and my husband's income? I'm guessing yes, but I'm not sure and I know there are a lot of ladies on here that are on WIC and could tell me the answer a lot faster than calling the office. I live in Illinois if that makes a difference. If we don't have to claim my husband's income, then we would qualify for a little bit of assistance, otherwise we will be over the income limits.

im not sure, i wasnt married when i first got on wic in florida, then i got married, i told the lady at the wic office that i had gotten married but she didnt put my husbands income or any of his info on my wic folder. maybe it depends on the person that works at the office if they are nice or not.

I'm not sure about Illinois, but I know in Indiana they do use your husbands income as well.

Yes, if you are married I'm pretty sure you have to claim his income. I'm not in Illinois, but I think WIC is about the same all over as far as guidelines go.

Yeah, in IL you have to claim your husbands income too.

I don't have WIC anymore but whenever I did I remember claiming his income too.

Another Question
Since you already made this topic, I just wanted to ask another question about it. I was wondering if I could probably qualify for WIC even though I'm on my parents income? I'll be moving out in a few months, but even then my child support will still be paid since I'm not married. But that money goes directly to my mom to pay for my college, soI don't actually see any of it. So, does anyone know if I would still be able to qualify for it? Hope that makes some sense, if not I'm sorry. Very Happy

You shouldn't have to claim your parent's income. It should only be yours. The best thing to do is head over to your local health department to see if you qualify.
