I've had sleep paralysis for a long time
and it's terrifying each time because it
feels like I'm going to die.
First question. When you feel like you
cannot breath during sleep paralysis, are
you actually having trouble breathing, or
is it just the sensation?
Also when I have sleep paralysis my ears
ring really loud so that's all I can hear
usually. Sometimes I hear people talking
that I don't even live with or I will hear
a large crowd of people talking even
though nobody is home. So I guess that
would be auditory hallucinations.
Sometimes it sounds like radio static.
If my eyes are open I don't see much but
it looks like when you have bad reception
on your tv and you can sort of make out a
channel but it's mostly fuz.
At that point I usually feel like I am
dying. My chest will hurt. I feel like
moving but can't. Or I will think I moved
and got up but then realize I hadn't done
anything. Sometimes I feel as if I am
being tickled.
Over the years the symptoms have gotten
scarier and scarier. Does anyone else get
something similar...such as hearing things
or seing things or feeling things that
aren't there? It makes me feel like I'm
dying. Last night I was pretty sure I
wouldn't make it. But I always do.

yes, i know exactly what you're saying!
the same thing has happened to me. i was
just posting on another forum in here,
that i have actually ended up in someones
home before, and that person was eating
chips on their bed. it was so strange but part of sp is
out of body experiences. and we can
actually go all over the world in those.
so if you hear lots of voices, or hear
people in your house, you may actually be
having them. it's just a guess though, but
i have heard of it and experienced the
same thing
another thing is you said it was like a tv
and the fuzzy channels, i know exactly
what you mean but it's so hard to explain,
the person would have to actually
experience it to know what you're saying.
but i have been there as well, it kind of
seems like my head and body feel numb, but
at the same time it's almost like i'm
being struck by lightning or something
haha i don't know how else to describe it

Actually I figured out what the fuzzy
noise was!!! I have my fan on all night
when I sleep because it helps me sleep.
When I have sleep paralysis usually the
background noise doesn't sound quite the
same as when I'm awake. If I listen to
music when I'm sleeping it sounds
different when I have the paralysis! It's
almost creepy sounding. The fan sound is
really crazy! Anyways at least I'm not
crazy LOL!

great to read!! lol it's amazing how
things are so distorted as we sleep, and
most people don't even know where we're
coming from or talking about. i'm very
glad to have found this site.

at times yes, i feel a deep fear in my
dreams, and i wake up with extreme
anxiety. why i don't know, it may be part
of it. it's nice to know that i'm not
alone in my fear. i've had the same dream
for the past 2 nights now, and when i
awake, it seemed so real that i'm relieved
that i'm still actually at my home. i can
control my dreams as long as i know i'm
dreaming, which i usually do. i can fly in
my dreams, bad guys chase me quite a bit
in my dreams, and if i wish, i can jump to
the top of a tree, then fly to the top of
a house to get away. does that sound
strange? as i'm afraid of heights, in
waking life, i can feel the anxiety in my
dreams so real that it takes my breathe
away as i'm sleeping at times. i remember
having sp when i was young as well. an
action figure was chasing me, and i
couldn't move in my dream, i tried to wake
myself up, but i couldn't even move, it
was so scary.

I've actually felt like I was going to die
a few times in my sleep paralysis. I've
actually said a prayer in my head too.
It's sort of neat about what was discussed
as far as out of body experiences go. I'm
not too sure that I believe in it, but I'm
still open to the possibility that it can
happen. I've just never had anything like
it.
Actually I think one of you mentioned in
this discussion that you just finished
posting on another sleep paralysis
discussion. I believe that was also mine.
This one wasn't getting any replies so I
decided to repost and make the title more
catchy. It's funny because there's 3 of
discussing the same topic but just on a
different post
I hope I didn't confuse you much!
Also, one of you said that you woke up
somewhere else? Did you find out how you
got into that person's home? How did these
people react? I find it quite interesting
actually. Maybe you sleep walk as well?
That's it for me tonight!
Sweet dreams to you all

i think it was probably me lol, i ended up
in someone elses house, and they were
eating chips very loudly and watching tv,
i was so annoyed but couldn't bring myself
to say anything, and the whole time i
thought it was my ex, but we didn't have
tv in my room, so that was ruled out. the
person in the room didn't even seem to
know that i was there, and i know it was
some kind of an out of body experience,
because i remember the bed being a higher
off the ground bed, it was so strange.
but this person was annoying me horribly
with the eating chips right by my ear LOL
it was very strange. another time i had
one was very recently actually, i ws
standing in their kitchen i believe, and
they were talking with me standing right
there, i remember saying something, and
they just looked at me like, "who are
you?" lol it was very strange, but they
just ignored me and carried on with their
conversation like they tuned me out. i
heard every word they said, only thing is,
they spoke with a very thick accent, and
some in a different language, i'm thinking
maybe scotland, but i'm not exactly sure,
i know it wasn't in this country as
strange as it sounds. it creeps me out a
little bit to be honest. any suggestions
as to how i can stay at home while i'm
sleeping? lol
