Can Someone Answer My Question? Posted: 03-16-04 07:46am


I have been having some pain in my right side for about 3 weeks now and it hasn't gotten better. Last night I was laying on my couch and it felt like my intestines were twisting up or something, it was horrible. I thought if I went to bed it would help but this morning that side was still hurting me could this be something with my appendix!?!?!? Please someone answer this or give me some advice!!!!!!!

This goes along with the first thing I wrote.... I also feel bloated and am quite gassy. I get extremly cold just out of the blue even when im in some of the warmest clothes I have!!! And it is very tender to poke/prod in those ares

As a nurse, I suggest you see a doctor as soon as possible. The symptoms of appendicitis differ for everyone. Usually you would have a fever and pain around your belly button to start with. When I had appendicitis I thought that I was having really bad menstral cramps. The pain continued to worsen and I developed a fever. You really should see a doctor soon!! Three weeks is long enough to wait . Good luck to you.

I am also a nurse, and I wanted to tell you that you will need to have an ultrasound done of not only your append. But also your gallbaldder, liver, kidneys, spleen.Ect... This is called an abdominal ultrasound. Your doc can call it in at your local hospital they will have you not eat anything past midnight, then come straight in, in the morning so they can view everything and get an idea of what is going on...... I had my append. Rupture and I never really had much pain, but I recently had my gallbladder removed and I will tell you something, that pain is awful. I had extreem bloating, allot of urq pain, under the ribs on the right side, gas so bad all the time, it got so bad that I couldn't even hardly eat anything. So I would definately go in and have it checked out asap.... If you have a gallstone like I did stuck it can cause allot of other problems if left untreated,, like pancreatitis, ect... You could get allot worse.. And if it is your append. And you leave it untreated and it bursts(ruptures) you could die! Please go to your doc, or local er......

Thanks for all the info you all have given me none of you would probally guess but im only 14 and am affraid to tell my mom! but I think with all this information I might mention something sometime (soon) b.C I dont want to die or something scary like that

Yeah, honey, you really need to tell your mom and go to the doctor. It could just be something simple like irritable bowel syndrome, but you need to rule out all of the serious things that were mentioned above. You really need to tell your mom. Don't be afraid. What is more scary is that if you do not go and get whatever it is fixed, you could die. I am not trying to be morbid, but if it is your appendix and they burst, you could die. So, please, please, please go to the doctor!

Im the same 14 year old who wrote the... Can someone answer my question? Well I was thinking the other night that this maybe could be y I get pains in my right side..... I never eat breakfast, and seldomly eat lunch (i was not happy bout the way I looked or the size I wore, and my relationship with my mom is not very good she goes off on these tangents where she tells me im fat and then the next calls me a skinny minni, she also will just blow up at my for no reason and make me feel like dirt and the thing that is worse she is so nice to my 16 soon to be 17 year old sister, I just dont understand) when I get home from school I like eat all junk food practically, and then sometimes dont eat supper!!!! I was just wondering if since I dont eat anything practically and then I shove all this junck food into my body could it be somthing from that? I still will go to the doctor sometime but I just was ceriouse! Thanks

Well it could be. It could also be from the stress you are under from your mother. I am sorry that she treats you that way. Just keep in mind that you are better than that and you can acheive greatness with or without her!!!

Dont feel sry for me its okay ive lived with it since I was born practically it was always go to ur dad do this u know that type of a thing but its all good im feelin a little better yesterday and today. thanks much ill keep u posted if I start feelin sick again :d

At 14 your body is going through a lot of amazing changes. I can remember not be content with my body at that age but I promise you it is all for the masterplan. I'm sure your mother's words hurt but know that she says those things because she is not happy with herself and it is you, unfortunately, that she is venting on so she can shed some of her pain. (though that to is counterproductive) put your focus into something positive and not destructive because the kind of adult you want to be starts now. Much love to you sweetie.

Well u obviously know nothing bout me I dont need attention I know the right way to get it I just dont like to tell my mother when im in any kind of pain! Its not my fault she treats me like crap! And if I wanted attention I could get it from plenty of other peeps in my family and I could talk to my friends I dont need any attention from anyone I dont really know I just needed an answer to my question and I thought maybe that could be part of the reason y it was bothering me b.C I was in so much pain I seriously thought I was gonna pass out and not get up! So yeah peeps can voice their opinion but ur opinion was wrong chica sry that u wasted ur time reading my question least some peeps have some consideration!

Check to See If It Is Your Gallbladder Posted: 05-08-04 06:04am


If it feels like a cat crawing inside you stomache with sharp pain in the center it sounds like your gallbladder. Also fatty food trigger it. May last from 1 hour to 6 hours and just gets worse. Does not come back for a while but does reappear. If this sounds like it have your gallbladder checked out. But I agree no matter what get an abdominal ultra sound no matter what. Good luck.

Hey thanks for all ur great advice ive been to the doctor many times for check ups and I guess it was nothing b.C they just sent me home everytime and told me to rest! I would have posted this sooner but my computer monitor took a hit but its all good now and im much better thanks again for all ur imput and advice! It ment a lot to me! Jules

I have been reading online, about the appendix and the symptoms for apendicitis. I think I have em :o first it starts with pain around ur bellybutton(i had that), then it goes to ur right side of ur abodomen and hurts when u do rush movements (going through that right now). Well the pain in my stomach came upon about a week ago, but it would go away and come back. Then the day before yesturday, i've been getting this pain on my right side of my abs. Atm I don't have any insurance or n e thing, so would anyone know what's the going rate for that scan thing?
