Swollen Lymph Nodes
Posted: 08-12-07 12:08pm

Hello,

Recently I noticed one night (about 2 days ago) the one of my lymph nodes right above my collar bone became swollen and is about 1.5 cm in size and has a firm yet sort of rubbery texture to it. I can move it around just a little bit and I don't think it's attached to the skin. I looked online for what the cause could possibly be and found a very long range of conditions from cancer, to parasites, to abdominal infections.

I think it should also be known that about a month ago I was having issues with bowel movements (constipation) and got a Thyroid test which came out well and all I had to do was up my fiber intake and everything went back to normal. Perhaps this could be a cause of this?

Anyway, if someone cold respond to this with any advice or what they think i'd really appreciate it.

Have a nice day,

Chris

I should also mention I had a very very mild cold for about 2 weeks before i noticed this and since I have noticed no longer really exists.

Hi Chris, For peace of mind, I'd see your primary care physican. Swollen lymph nodes can be from a number of things, infection being one. You mentioned you had a mild cold earlier, this could be related, but until a doctor confirms this, you won't know. I have learned when something isn't quiet right or I am questioning it, take my old ass to the doctor to find out, its like when you get a tooth ache and you keep on waiting until it hurts so bad, a trip to the dentist sounds fun! Its alwasy better to be safe than sorry and f this should be something other than temporary, you have at least caught it in time! Cool Good luck!
