my granddaughter admitted having sex, she had a positive pregnancy test, then a week or two later had a negative test. She has continued on birth control since the negative test (has taken at least 6 more - all negative) and has had her period every month, but her body is developing like she is pregnant - breasts larger, belly getting bigger, etc. Could she be pregnant, and if so, has damage been done to the baby by the continued use of birth control?

I'm not sure what the BC pills do to a pregnancy. I'm sure not good. But you can still bleed during pregnancy. I would see a doctor ASAP! should have when she got a test Sad

She should see the doctor ASAP to have a blood test and ultrasound and to be sure she is not pregnant.

However, birth control pills can have a bad reaction in some women and cause pregnancy symptoms. This was the case with me. I did fine on the pill for years, then suddenly, my body just had it. I started having a ton of water retention in my feet, legs & hands (weight went up almost 20 lb. in 1 month due to retaining water), the area over my uterus got hard and bulgy, exactly the way it looks now that I am almost 6 months pregnant, my breasts got huge, I had crazy mood swings & anxiety, I started craving foods (especially milk, which I normally dislike the taste of). All that, and I wasn't pregnant, it was just my body's reaction to the pill.

I actually had a ton more symptoms on birth control pills than I have now that I actually AM pregnant!

How far along would she have been? It could have been a chemical pregnancy. How long did she think she was pregnant?

She needs to see a doctor for a specific diagnosis. It sounds to me like her hormones are off. Negative pregnancy tests are pretty conclusive that she is not pregnant.
