hi everyone
i am a newbee, and i have some worries about my pregnancy which i wonder if anyone can help with
i have been spotting and bleeding for about 2 weeks, i had an ultrasound which the midwife said didnt look right but was too early to tell.
i had one hcg test done on last wednesday afternoon, then another on friday morning, so not quite 48 hours, the first result was 4878, the second was 7923, so they didnt double, but they went up quite a lot.
im really confused, i dont know what to make of all this.
surely my number shouldnt go up that much if i am miscarrying
help!

That ultrasound was way too early to really see anything. I would wait about another week or so and go back for another ultrasound. By 8 weeks you woud for sure have a heartbeat able to be seen on the screen if the pregnancy is progressing. How bad was your bleeding and spotting?

So you will be 6 weeks at this ultrasound right? I hope everything goes well. Some women do bleed during pregnancy and that doesn't always mean bad things. Have you ever had any clots?

Hcg Levels Update
hi all
i went for my scan today, i could see the heart beat and everything looked great, thanks for praying for me, i guess the last nurse didnt know what to look for, she really scared me saying she couldnt see anything that looked like a healthy pregancy.

Congrats!!! I am so happy for you I know how that can feel. I had some spotting early on in my pregnancy and was told I had a "missed miscarriage" They sent me in for a scan to confirm the miscarriage and we saw a nice strong heartbeat!! Now I am just waiting for my 10 week appointment when we get to hear a heartbeat. I am still very nervous but I have good feelings about this. I am 7 weeks tomorrow and so far no more spotting!

When I was 8 weeks pregnant with my Daughter I went to the restroom one night and had bleeding like a regular period. My heavy bleeding only lasted a few hours but I had red and brown spotting for a few days. I ended up going to the ER and turns out I had a "subchorionic hematoma". There is TONS of information about this on the internet so happy searching. I would ask your Nurse to do another ultrasound and look for the bleed. Depending on if this is what you have and how large it is, you SHOULD be OK, but it does increase your chances of a possible miscarriage. Just take it easy, put your feet up and drink lots of water. Good Luck!! P.S. my Daughter is now turning 1 this weekend so hopefully this gives you encouragement.
