Teeth..

I have a 16 month old son, and he has already started getting his 2 year molars. He only has 3 teeth on bottom and 4 teeth on top...Isn't he supposed to have another tooth on his bottom gums?

Is this even normal? I'm just hoping he doesn't have something wrong with his teeth...it took forever for him to even get any because he has hypothyroidism which causes delayed teething in babies.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thankkk youuuu.

Hey Dalicia!

Adriana had 4 teeth on the bottom when she got her 2 back molars (I don't know if they are 1 year or 2 year tho) but I thought she should have gotten the ones behind the other 4 first, but instead she got those molars, then she got the ones between the first 4 and the molars. If that makes any sense.

She got one side before the other, so it was uneven. But I would think he should get that 4th bottom tooth before cutting molars. But I guess different teeth come in at different times. Sorry I wasn't much help

D, those are his 1 year molars. The 2 year molars are BEHIND those. Yes, they have to go through MORE molar pain!! suuucks!

But, Oni had the 4 on top, 3 on the bottom, then her molars started cutting. She FINALLY got the 4th bottom tooth about a week after her 1st molar cut.

She's cutting her K-9's(which come out on average at about 18 months).

Here's a chart for their teefuses!

Primary Teeth Development Chart

Upper Teeth When tooth emerges

Central incisor 8 to 12 months
Lateral incisor 9 to 13 months
Canine (cuspid) 16 to 22 months
First molar 13 to 19 months
Second molar 25 to 33 months

Lower Teeth
Second molar 23 to 31 months
First molar 14 to 18 months
Canine (cuspid) 17 to 23 months
Lateral incisor 10 to 16 months
Central incisor 6 to 10 months

Here's a pic of the chart to match
