Tomorrow I have a consultation with the oral surgeon!
Posted: 08-14-07 13:15pm

Tomorrow I have a consultation with the oral surgeon at the Oakland children’s hospital. IM SO EXCITED! I’m not sure what their going to say, hopefully they say that they can help me. I’m a bit anxious, but I know this is the next step for me to take, I’ve been waiting so long for this.
WISH ME GOOD LUCK!! I’ll let everyone know what happened when I get back.

That's GREAT Victoria! I would suggest that you write down some questions tonight to take with you to ask him, and of course, right now, I have a mind blank. Embarassed Explain everything in detail as much as possible as to your symptoms and problems. Examples - "sharp pain in ear," "jaw popping when eating", headaches, neck pain, etc. You get the idea. Write out everything tonight so you don't get flustered during the appointment like I have before. List any medications you currently take and the dosage, as well as any previous meds that did not help. Hope and expect that he will want to start out "conservatively" even tho I hate that word. See what his "plans' are to help you (does he have a plan?)

You'll be in my prayers. God bless...

Don't think that Victoria. It sounds like you might have hope. You will be blessed if you only have popping and cracking to live with for the rest of your life. Function and pain should be your focus, and I personally put pain in front of function (but just barely). Relax now and concentrate on the plan to get "better."

God bless...

that surgery is called arthroscopy. its fairly simple and routine and nothing to worry about. I firmly beleive that you have a good chance of being"fixed". Let us know when you have a date.
