I'm 14, Severly Depressed, And Need Help!
Posted: 08-14-07 14:17pm

Hi, I'm new here and I just joined so that I could ask a few questions. My mom died almost three years ago and since then I've been experiencing depression along with many other symptoms which affect my everyday life. I'll just get right to it and list them all:

Depression
Anxiety
Mood-swings
Uncontrollable anger
Fits of rage
Frequent/worsening obsessive-compulsive habits
Occasional panic attacks
Occasional suicidal thoughts
Occasional paranoia
Feelings of detachment and separation from people
Feelings of helplessness and hopelessness

I know that's a lot of things to list, and you're probably thinking that I just listed every little thing that sort of bothers me. But I assure you, each of those symptoms is recurring and affects my daily life. I feel like I really need help, or else I don't know what might happen. I occasionally see a therapist but that's not doing much. I'm not the kind of person that thinks every little problem a person has needs to be treated with pills, but I'm pretty sure I need to be on some kind of meds. What do you guys think? Do i need to be prescribed something, and if so what would it be?

Thanks!

well... I dont really believe on drugs, if dr. says you have to then, maybe. otherwise avoid them. they end up screwing you up from the inside.
