Miscarriage, Birth Control Pills and Period Questions ! Posted: 08-15-07 04:05am
I've been trying to make sure I read lots
of post and or websites about pregnancy
and miscarriage before I post. But I think
I'm just gonna have to toss my questions
out there...
I have been taking the bc pill since
september of 2006. I changed my pill
because I had some breakthrough bleeding
so the doctor tried something "stronger"
(i guess.) It's been a few months on this
new pill (tri-nessa) and a week or so
before my period is suppossed to come i
get what seems to be breakthrough bleeding
again.
I didn't waste $ going to buy a Home
pregnancy test yet. I've been trying to
wait for my period. The bleeding started
lightly, then to maybe a brown...one
afternoon it was a lot like a period then
back to light. Today I experienced some
HARSH type cramps. I have been monotoring
my urine aswell. No blood seems to be in
it (like a period would have), but there
was like some type of clumpy stuff once or
twice.
I know everything happens differently for
every female. I'm just confused.
I feel like an fool...and I apologize to
you guys. But if you're miscarrying will
your pregnancy test still come out
positive?
I have maybe a day or so till my period is
"scheduled" to be here. All the pregnancy
symptoms and period symptoms are so close
...and my mind wanting a baby is screwing
with me.
I know all of what I typed is probably a
mess. It's 2am and I'm so tired but
couldnt get this off my mind. I'd
appreaciate ANY replies.

Hi,
I'm not exactly sure how to answer
your question, the only thing I can kind
of say is that I was having a miscarriage
and when I went to the doctor my count was
low and then 2 days later it was
completely negative, which means that
there was no more preg. hormones in my
body. I guess wait and see if you get
your "normal " period and if not then go
get one. But i hate to say it, but if
you've been having clumps, if there was a
chance you were pregnant, more than
likely you've miscarried. But as always I
could be wrong and maybe you should call
your doctor!

It is the hormones from the birth control
pill that are causing the break-thru
bleeding. This can be common for some
women.
With birth control pills, you aren't
ovulating, so your chance of pregnancy is
very low if you are taking it correctly.
Relax.
