I was wondering whether when I run out of the active(blue) pills in orthotricyclen and wait for my period to start, whether I am supposed to start taking the new pills after 7 days even if my period always starts 4 days after I take the last active(blue) pill or if I should wait until my period is done before beginning to take them again in order for them to be effective. Please let me know, I have been taking them after my period is done and am unsure as to whether this is effective.

To the best of my knowledge you have to take the inactive pills straight after the active ones & then go back to the next pack for more active ones. In other words you don't wait till your period stops/starts or anything else, you just take one tablet each day, active for 21 days inactive for 7 = 28 days & then start again. But next time you see your dr if you are doing this right (as above) & your period is still not co-operating (it may take 2-3 months for your cycle to get into gear with the pill) then talk to your dr about it.
