Post Pill Depression

I had been on YAZ for 5 months when my Dr advised me to get off due to the change in my migraines. I thought it was truly a great pill. I have been on BCP for pretty much the last 14 years with only a break while pregnant and shortly after. My hormones seem to be going crazy. i have never suffered from anxiety or depression before but since being off YAZ now for 3 weeks, I am being hit hard with both. After this scare with YAZ and needing to see a nuerologist, i've had enough of the bcps so I dont want to try something else. Has anyone else out there experienced the severe anxiety and depression after stopping yaz or any other bcp? If so, how long did it last and was anyone able to get through it without taking anti anxiety or anti depressant pills? if so, what helped, i want to do this naturally and without pills.

It might take you a while to get back to normal. Yaz is used to treat pre-menstrual depression, and while it's not an anti-depressant, when you stop taking it like you did your mood might be crazy for a little while.

You can just wait it out and see if it gets better, but if it doesn't, make sure you see someone about it. You don't want it to develop into a depression that you can't shake....

as far as not taking drugs for depression, exercise has been found to help a lot. Get yourself moving. I'm sure there are other things but that's all I can pull off the top of my head.

I hope this helps, good luck.
